Strength and Your Village

Strength and your village
Strength and Your Village

Psalm 100: A Psalm of Thanksgiving

Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

Strength comes from your Village

Strength comes not just from the person but from who is standing with the person. I am stronger when I have a solid support system behind me. Knowing I have people who believe in me, who will catch me when I fall. Knowing I have that gives me the freedom to explore, to take the leap of faith, to try even if I might fail. It really takes a village, and I am thankful for my village.

When I think of my village, I think about a bunch of people. But as the people in that village grows, some days I wonder if God can become part of my village, or if He is up there guiding His people into this humble little village of mine. That would be nice, wouldn't it?

How do you show your beliefs to the people around you?

People know you are religious when you stop to pray before a meal, or when you say no to Sunday bunch because you have to go to church. But if you take away these characteristic giveaways, would people know you were Christian just by the way you act? Are you embodying the traits of the religion in a way that you are proud of?

Would Jesus be proud to have you represent Him?
